Simone Tops

Studio Tops is the creative workshop established by artist and designer Simone Tops in 2017, and based in Naarm.

Founded on the principles of longevity, craftmanship, and a cross-disciplinary approach Tops’ studio grew from her visual arts background in which she majored in sculpture, glass, multimedia and metal working.

Studio Tops brings together a technical knowledge of glass, steel, and leatherwork to create both sculptural and architectural forms, as well as a range of hand-crafted sculptural leather bags which honour the qualities of these materials.

Studio Tops creates works that are crafted to last, patina over time, and designed to be companions for life.

Melbourne Design Fair showcases the best collectible design from Australian and international designers and makers with presentations staged by leading commercial galleries, studios, design organisations, and agencies in addition to a highlight exhibition of works for sale curated by the NGV Department of Contemporary Design and Architecture.

In Shaped at Craft Victoria, artists explore rich ideas through material transformation and storytelling— from tensions between function and aesthetic to technology and nature, culture and identity, and our experiences in lockdown.

Self Portrait

Self Portrait presents 22 self-portraits by Australian creatives, telling us who they are in this moment. Creatives were encouraged to think about their personal and professional selves, representing themselves in a single object.
